Cielito Lindo Taqueria, a family-owned Mexican restaurant that has been cooking in Western New York since 2016, has signed a lease for the former El Ranchito building at 9780 Main Street in Clarence. The news ran in the Clarence Bee this week — and we're proud to say the truck got there by way of our kitchen.
How it happened
Cielito Lindo's truck has been a regular on Main Street this year through CCK Hotspots, the program that gives our food-truck members free vending spots at plazas along Main. They prep for the truck at CCK, and they'll keep using the kitchen while the restaurant is built out.
The lease came together through Stephen Development, which owns the El Ranchito building, as well as the plazas that host Hotspots. It's a route we built on purpose: start in the kitchen, build a following on the street, and have a storefront waiting when you're ready.
We started Hotspots so food trucks would have a reliable home on Main Street.Paul Stephen, in the Clarence Bee
What's coming
Expect traditional street tacos — al pastor, carne asada, barbacoa, carnitas, birria — along with burritos, tortas, tamales, horchata and jamaica, and a self-serve salsa bar. The existing kitchen, bar and dining room are mostly staying put, so the work is interior finishing, with an opening planned for this fall.
Cielito Lindo is the seventh CCK member business to move into a storefront of its own. Follow their opening at cielitolindobuffalo.net.
